The exhausting life of Booger Tomkinson

Anyone with a pet knows the curious joy of taking care of a creature that somehow knows that you are it's owner and you provide for it. I can't put my finger on what it is about the human psyche, but for some reason this is really nice experience for people. Some of you may know that we have a pretty cool cat named Booger. While I believe he is the best cat in the whole world, I do not expect you to agree with me. This is why I usually refrain from sharing my amusements of this wonderful creature with you. However, today, I will break my rule because Booger has been cracking me up!

We have recently discovered that Booger eats at least four houses in the neighborhood. Having been born across the street, he naturally believes that he has two homes since our neighbors are nice enough to love him the way we do. Not to mention, his mother lives across the street so they pal around together in search of all the neighborhood cat food they can find. This has resulted in Booger gaining a significant amount of weight for an outdoor kitty.

Gaining weight in the summer in North Carolina is not a good idea when you are already a black cat. This boy gets HOT! In the last month, I see him sprawled out, as flat and stretched out as a board...or road kill, and he can't even be bothered to move. It's the funniest thing to witness this funny little guy with his legs as wide as they will go and his arms lifted over his head.

Let's face it, Booger has a really sweet life and from what I can tell, he loves it. Humor me a minute and check out some pics of our lil' Boog.
